Overview

|
Private Phone is a Internet phone application providing capability of voice communication without using intermediary server. Private Phone supports voice PC-to-PC connection over Internet and LAN. Private Phone uses TCP/IP protocol (UDP). Additional features:
record of dialog;
play chess;
cooperative work in the graphic editor.
Obligatory hardware requirements:
modem or network card;
sound card;
microphone and output device.

Quick start
|
|
|
connect to Internet or to local network;
run Private Phone programm;
one of interlocutors selects option Server, other selects option Client;
on server side click the button "Start" and inform your partner about IP address;
on client side enter IP address of server and click the button "Dial". If IP-address contains two-digit or one-digit number, use arrow-key "right";
for voise connect someone of interlocutors must click the button "Talk";

Connection
|
|
|
Private Phone provides capability of communication without using intermediary server. Therefore you must inform your partner about IP-address. Private Phone provides possibility to send e-mail with IP-address. Press bitton "E-mail" on the toolbar. If you want to sent e-mail, fill in required fields of groupboxes "Message","Outgoing Setting" and "Account setting". Then click the button "Send". The message with subject "Private Phone" will be send. If you want to check new messages with subject "Private Phone", fill in required fields of groupboxes "Incoming setting" and "Account setting". Then click the button "Connect". Select the message from the list and click the button "Retrieve".

Voice
|
|
|
At the first start you must choose audiocompression format. Our recommendation: format GSM 6.10. You may change compression format at any time, clicking the button "Setting". At the voice connection time server defines compression format.
Voice Detector is useful feature, designed to remove network traffic when you keep silence.
Optinon Frequently & briefly defines the size of outgoing packet.
Option Mute turn off microphone.
You may tune voice detector without connect, clicking the button "Test".

Text messages
|
|
|
The chat panel is placed below toolbar. The field "My name is" determinates your name in the text messages. Next field uses for text data input. Write message in this field and click button with image of a hand.

Record of dialog
|
|
|
Click the button "Record" on the toolbar. The window "Record" will appear. Click the button "Start" to start of a record. Click the button "Stop" to stop of a record. Voice data will saved in file with format "wav". Record is available in the test mode too.

Chess
|
|
|
After connecting click the button "Chess" on the toolbar. The window "Chess" will appear. Set color and time of the game. Click the button "Start". Analogous window activates automatically on the partner side. After reconnicting use the button "Load" in order to restore position.

Graphic editor
|
|
|
After connecting click the button "Paint" on the toolbar. The window "Paint" will appear. You can paint with your partner together.
